I do some work with AAM, and I think the sticker is a good idea because it's a free-market solution. Consumers want cars with better fuel economy and the automakers are going to have to deliver if they want to stay in business. I think raising fuel economy arbitrarily, like some in Washington are trying to do with "CAFE standards," is a completely misguided theory. Regulation would be a deterrent -- a detour if you will -- for the automakers trying to develop the next generation of clean and efficient vehicles.
