Menu Foods Income Fund (TSX:MEW.UN), a Canadian company, announced on March 16, 2007 what they have named "a precautionary recall" of a portion of the dog and cat food it manufactured at two U.S. facilities from December 3, 2006 to March 6, 2007. The recall is limited to "cuts and gravy" style pet food in cans and pouches. The products were both manufactured and sold under private-labels as well as sold under national brand labels (40 labels of cat food, 50 labels of dog food). Reports of renal failure caused by ingestion of the food manufactured with a new ingredient prompted the recall. For the product names go here: http://www.menufoods.com/recall/
