"Free Market"2007-04-17 18:44:33mambo

"The Free Market" is heralded by many as the way to maintain and move our country forward. Problem is that the "free market" is neither wholly honest, moral or ethical. Let's go back to a form of government of, by and for the people. Many politicians today are just paid lobbyists for those who have contriubted the most money to their campaigns.

Free markets but not for pharmaceuticals2007-04-16 14:17:36n99nt

It's a free market when a car company moves its factories to Mexico, a toy company can outsource to a Chinese subcontractor, a shoe company can produce its shoes in Southeast Asia, a major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes. We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico. We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh. We can purchase almost anything we want from 20 different countries. BUT, heaven help the senior citizens who dare to buy their prescription drugs from Canadian or Mexican pharmacies. That's called un-American! And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby? Think again!
