Dean's American Dream2004-02-27 11:45:58sequoias

I was inspired to write this poem in honor of Governor Dean. Don't know if you have a special place for poetry on your site, so I will set my wings motionless here. Thank you Governor Dean for giving us a voice - you will not be silenced ... and I look forward to 2008 when you revive your candidacy............ 'Dean's American Dream'............ I love an authentic man whose name is Howard Dean...... Some strange and silly people still talk about his scream...... Am sad to proclaim what people may never really know...... That Howard Dean will always straight and stately go...... To the ends of the earth to show this doubting nation...... Of his love for his country through sheer determination...... He stands tall to speak the truth, abode sincere his candor...... For ordinary citizens who lost faith in government’s slander...... How strange the fact, that giant media alignments...... Silenced and tried to bury, this man of sheer and great refinements...... Through veracity and triumph he gave us back our voices...... And much needed pathways to the road for better choices...... The messenger shot down - the lies still forth this day continue...... The shame undeniably strewn down, words yet void of truth - remorseless...... He sought the highest office in this most spirited of lands...... To have seen him reach it would be incomparably so grand...... We deserve someone special like Governor Howard Dean...... Who uses his life and vision for a purely vested dream...... He says we’re all in this together, friend or foe we must live on...... In a kingdom of wondrous treasure, surely to save it we must long...... Of hope, common sense, balanced budgets, needed jobs he will implore...... That war is miserable, cold and cruel - that this world deserves much more...... We will continue to fight for - the downtrodden and misled people...... We throw down the gauntlet and shout from the highest steeple...... To vow to continue his countenance, for proud we must redeem...... The vision of a great American - revered gift of Howard Dean............................ By Juliette Thomas
