Your report of the protest is not surprising at all. Come to Portland, OR for a protest and see just what the police and those supposedly in charge can really do. Maybe you missed the story about three years ago about the protesters that were surrounded on three sides by cops on horses and a river. Then told to disperse! Sorry to take the wind out of your sails but this happens all the time in Portland. A few people arrested is nothing in comparison to hundreds maced and trampled by horses. And now that permission has been given via the Patriot Act to justify any action as long as the action gets results... but wait, results aren't necessary any more and Iraq has proven that.
