A thoroughly fascinating look at the ancient origins of modern holiday traditions. However, before suggesting Amanita to anyone, I would STRONGLY recommend further research and much caution. Amanita is indeed toxic if not handled properly, and may not be for everyone. I always refer people to the best resource for initial research on entheogens: Erowid.org http://www.erowid.org/plants/amanitas/amanitas.shtml Erowid should provide answers to the most basic questions a person might have about the Amanita: legality, safty, preperation, experience reports, dosage, etc. Entheogens are a gift and a privilege, and I encourage everyone to enjoy them with respect for their powerful effects.
