Just got a phone call from somebody claiming to be from the Police Protective League in Joplin. My response was, "You've got to be kidding!" I had to answer the phone for that...especially knowing that reporting them to the AG's No Call List would be to no avail. In spite of how they operate they have "charity status." How about a law to better define a "charity?" Anyway, I hope none of our readers falls for this ruse. If you want to donate money to the Joplin cops, donate it directly to their police benevolent fund.
