It's hard to be optimistic about any environmental matters around here...and yet the people in Cherokee County, KS did keep Moark out of there. Some say it was because the exisiting polluters over there joined the coalition to keep out competition, I don't know. And publicity has sure turned up the heat on RES in Carthage and on the DNR, though it remains to be seen whether anything really gets done. Nobody sees the big picture. On a related issue, where are all those "active" Kerry supporters now when we're having peace demonstrations or environmental threats in the community? Are they waiting until 2004 to get active again? And where are all those so-called liberals from MSSU?
