Will they ever learn?2009-06-13 10:03:58staff

Law enforcement officers took to the rails again in Jasper County on June 10, 2009 to witness behaviors that put drivers (both trainmen and motorists) at risk at railroad crossings. Although MoDot claims that safety educational efforts are making a difference--no crossing crashes have occurred in Jasper County so far this year versus 17 in the past four years--still motorists still are putting themselves and trainmen in harm's way. 24 crossing signal violations and theree other traffic violations were issued in Joplin during the latest "Officer on the Train" operation.
