Our current progressive tax is complicated, this is true, but that doesn't mean that it's a bad system. This system is complicated because of all of the deductions that it includes that evenly and fairly distribute the tax burden between all economic brackets. Some examples of deductions that you are proposing throwing away include the deduction on morgages that allow many middle and lower class Americans to own their own homes. Another tax deduction provides incentive for businesses to keep jobs within the Unites States, and our entire economy could easily crash in the absence of this vital tax exemption. Yet another encourages businesses to research and practice green technology. Think about what you would be throwing away before you propose such a radical reform of our system.
