All of the money that is labeled "saved" is really money that is robbed from causes such as these. This money is not being saved, and the only way to keep these exemptions in place would be to create a governmental aristocracy in plave of the IRS that would have to take everything on a case-by-case basis. The $10 billion that is spent on the IRS annually would be miniscule when compared with the giant amount of money required to fund this replacement organization.
What about the economy, then? If we did flatten the tax system out to 20% across the board, how would this help our already struggling economy? The answer is that it wouldn't. A flat tax would destroy entrepreneurship by placing the tax burden on the lower classes, the classes that can not afford to pay higher rates.
