According to Stephanie Brady, director of programs for The Independent Living Center, in discussing low income apartments damaged or destroyed by the tornado, the Recovery Housing Task Force has compiled this list:
- Mercy Village Apartments at St. John's, 1120-1148 W. 28th St. - expected to reopen December 1, 2011
- Cedar Hill Apartments (Ozark Center), 1807 W. 30th St. - expected to reopen December 1, 2011
- Magnolia Heights Apartments, 1820 W. 30th St. - expected to reopen December 10, 2011
- JMA II, 611 W. 25th St. - the complex and land has been sold to another developer; he has set no date for completion nor whether they will be available for low income residents
- Hampshire Terrace Apartments, 2021 Hampshire Ter. - the owner will not rebuild, according to information from the city of Joplin
- Oak Meadows, 1502 S. Michigan Ave. - the owner is waiting on insurance settlement and predicts 1-2 years before reconstruction is completed
- Bell Management Apartments, 3609 E. 20th St. - in process of rebuilding; no completion date estimated
