| The Joplin Flyers, Missouri's oldest flying club, is taking part in the 2nd annual International Learn to Fly Day created by the Experimental Aircraft Association. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the old terminal building at the Joplin Regional Airport.
Participants interested in learning to fly light aircraft will have an opportunity to network with certified pilots as well as flight instructors. A presentation will offer privileges available to pilots, information on both Private and Sport certificates and a discussion on training costs and remaining active.
"We want to promote general aviation of all kinds in the Joplin area, and offering a way for people to get information on flying themselves for pleasure or business is part of that mission," said Dale Janssen, president of The Joplin Flyers.
The Joplin Flyers is a club devoted to safe and affordable personal aviation. Formed in 1967 by four members, it now has a membership of 11 and two aircraft flying approximately 250 hours per year.
The event is free but an RSVP is requested to predict the size of the group. For more information or to RSVP phone (417) 208-9359 or send an e-mail here. Go Back |
