Second Saturdays, the combined effort of downtown Grove merchants, including the owners of shops, art galleries and eateries, will feature food, art demonstrations, street performers, musicians and other festivities. Merchants will be extending their hours of operation for the event that will begin on June 9, 2007 and continue on the second Saturday of every month.
Larry Cole, owner of Blazon Studio, an art gallery, and the founder of the graphic design firm ColeCom, believes that Grove Second Saturdays will be a catalyst for big changes in downtown Grove.
"I think everyone should experience the creativity and fun downtown Grove has to offer," Cole said. "I can see visitors and locals coming to unwind after an active day here in Grand Lake. It's great to see the events gaining interest throughout the four-state area."
The dates for the 2007 season are: June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, and October 13.
Grove is located at the convergence of highways 59, 10 and 25 close to fingers of the Grand Lake 'O the Cherokees in Oklahoma.
