Lafayette House, a private, not-for-profit organization that assists women and children in Southwest Missouri who are the victims of domestic violence or rape or have problems relating to alcohol or drug abuse, announces the opening of Second Chances Resale Shop at 1705 Main St., Joplin.

The resale shop will carry good quality women's and children's clothing as well as small household items. Donations are accepted during store hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Profits from the shop will support Lafayette House programs and provide job training opportunities for its clients.
