With recent experience as sales director of iGaming.com, an internet gaming source, and as director of corporate development of Mikohn Gaming Corp of Las Vegas, NV, a developer, manufacturer and marketer of gaming products, Vincent Linstrom has been chosen the new Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) director. He will receive a starting salary of $56,884 and will take over the position that became vacant with the resignation of Mike McAfee in August 2007.
An executive director of the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau from 1990 to 1993, in which he developed a full-service CVB for the four cities (Davenport and Bettendorf, IA and Moline and Rock Island, IL), Linstrom led a campaign to build a convention center for the area. From 1981 to 1990, he served as the executive director of the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau. While in Fargo, Lindstrom raised $2 million in support of building a heritage center that houses various exhibits that portray life along the Red River Valley.
Lindstrom holds a Master of Arts from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT, and a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He also has completed a Harvard management program.
