A joplin resident was killed early this morning on I-44, according to a report issued by the Joplin Police Dept.

Shyla Brannan, 23, of 2530 S. Connor Ave., was the passenger in an International truck driven by Zachary R. Brannan, 22, of the same address, that collided with a Peterbilt driven by John E. Richardson, 45, of Fairview Heights, IL. The Richardson truck entering the highway going east from Range Line Rd., attempted to merge onto I-44 and was struck in the rear by the Brannan vehicle alread in that lane.

At the time of the accident the drivers did not report any injuries.
