| Stone’s Throw Dinner Theatre in Carthage is presenting Barbara Robinson's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever on December 3-6 and 10-13, 2009.
Opening night will feature the Bell Choir from the First Baptist Church of Lamar and during the performance on December 12 Rob Pommert will entertain the audience on classical guitar. Santa Claus will appear from noon until 2 p.m. on December 6 and from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on December 11. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring cameras to take photos of their children with Santa.
The show, with a large cast directed by Betty Bell and assisted by Betsy Fleischaker and Judy Boyd, is a comedy about the misbehaved Herdman kids who bully their way into performing the lead roles in the Sunday School's annual Christmas pageant without having opened a Bible. As one may imagine, mayhem ensues.
Doors on weekdays will open at 6 p.m., dinner is at 6:30 p.m. and curtain time is 7:30 p.m. On Sundays the doors open at 12:30 p.m., dinner is at 1 p.m. and curtain time is 2 p.m.
The menu includes Mrs. Armstrong's five cup salad, Herdman's ham, sage dressing, whole kernel corn, sauced cranberries, yeast roll, Mrs. McCarthy's applesauce cake and tea, coffee or punch.
Admission is $22 for adults, $19 for seniors over 55 and $10 for youth ages 6 to 18. Children under 5 are free. Large groups should reserve early. Reservations may be made by calling (417) 358-7268 or 358-9665 or by sending an e-mail here.
