| Images of 17 year old woman found on Officer’s cell phone
The Joplin Police Department received a complaint regarding the relationship of a 17-year-old female and a member of the force. The Joplin Police Department Internal Affairs Division initiated an administrative investigation into the alleged relationship on Saturday, Mar. 20, 2010. The investigation led to the officer’s home, which is located in Webb City. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, were called to assist, and initiated a criminal investigation.
Investigators recovered digital images of a 17-year-old female acquaintance from the cell phone of Jonathan White, age 23, a Joplin Police Department patrol officer, who has been employed with the department since January of 2009.
White is currently being held at the Jasper County jail pending formal charges of possession of child pornography. White has been placed on administrative leave due to the investigation. Go Back |
