Updated: 2010-09-27 21:05:44
Kelli Baldwin, age 29, of Joplin was pronounced dead at a local hospital Sunday afternoon. Baldwin was in her third trimester of pregnancy at the time of the accident. Attempts to save the baby were not successful. Baldwin was a passenger in the second row seating of a 2005 Kia Sedona minivan.

Carl Reuter, age 82, of Joplin, was pronounced dead at a local hospital Sunday afternoon as well. Reuter was a front passenger in the Kia minivan.

The minivan was westbound in the outside lane of 4th street, when it was struck head on by a 2000 Chevy pickup that was attempting to turn left into a strip mall parking lot just west of Range Line at 1457 hours. Stephen Howerton, age 19, of Webb City was driving the truck; Gay Baldwin, age 56, of Joplin was driving the van.

The Joplin Police Department’s Major Crash Team continues to investigate the accident.
