Meet the 3 finalists vying for Crowder president c-brown

The public has been invited to attend three public forums, one for each of the final candidates vying for the position of president of Crowder College. The open public forums will be held on January 30 for Dr. Allan Marble, February 6 for Dr. Thomas B. Baynum and February 9 for Dr. Leann Ellis. They are scheduled for 2 p.m. in the auditorium at the Elsie Plaster Center.

Prior to becoming interim president, a position he has held for the last seven months, Marble (at right) was Crowder's dean of business and support services for five and one-half years. After attending Crowder College, he graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He obtained his Master of Arts in psychology from Pittsburg State University and his doctorate in educational administration from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

Before becoming vice president of academic affairs at Palo Alto College in San Antonio, TX, a position he held for the last four and one half years, Baynum (at left) was dean of arts and sciences for over five years at Richland Community College in Decatur, IL. His educational background consists of a Bachelor of Arts in English and French and a master's degree in education and English from Wayne State College in Nebraska and a doctorate in higher education specializing in community college leadership from Baylor University in Waco, TX. Baynum's post doctoral work includes educational management from Harvard University.

Ellis (at right) has been vice president of academic affairs at Butler Community College in El Dorado, KS for the past eight years. Her educational background consists of an associate degree from South Plains Community College in Levelland, TX; a Bachelor of Arts cum laude and a Master of Arts in speech communication from Texas Tech University in Lubbock; and a doctorate in educational administration, community college leadership from the University of Texas, Austin.
