Tina Robbins, pictured, former Joplin High School and Missouri State basketball player, will take over as the women’s head coach at Crowder College.
"Her experience as both a player and coach will be an asset to the Crowder program," said Millie Gillion, Crowder athletic director. Gillion noted Robbins' dedication to a high level of excellence in the women’s basketball program.
Robbins is in her second year as head coach at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. where she also teaches physical education classes in the kinesiology department. She had taught and coached in the Springdale Public School system for six years and at Joplin R-8 for four years.
In applying for the position at Crowder Robbins stated, “Throughout my career as an athlete and as a coach, I have been involved with many highly successful programs. These experiences have allowed me to play for and work with many outstanding coaches, which has thoroughly expanded and enhanced my knowledge of the game of basketball.”
She will assume the position at Crowder as soon as the semester ends at LeTourneau. Her priorities include recruiting for next season and planning a camp for local players.
