Crowder benefits from donations c-brown
Updated: 2008-01-09 14:23:23-06
Mary Ellen Sims, Crowder College Foundation president and Dr. Alan Marble, Crowder president, accepted a $1,000 donation from Brad Wilson, the new manager of the upcoming Lowe's store in Neosho at a "Board Cutting" held on January 3, 2008.

Wilson stated that when a new Lowe's store plans to open, corporate makes available $1,000 as a donation to an area non-profit organization of the local store's choice. He mentioned that Crowder kept coming to mind every time he was involved in such a discussion.

The history of Camp Crowder and the college seemed to be such a part of the community that Wilson couldn't think of a better choice for the donation.

Wal-Mart donates, too

Chuck Cornelison, a representative of the Wal-Mart store in Neosho presented a check for $500 to Sims and Marble on January 8. The money represents funds allocated for a community grant.
