Crowder's enrollment figures jump staggeringly c-brown
Updated: 2010-12-08 10:48:18
Neosho, MO - Crowder College led the state in enrollment growth from fall 2007 to fall 2010 with a 52.4% increase in headcount, according to recently released figures from the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education (CBHE). Crowder's "full-time equivalent" (FTE) enrollment growth totaled 45.5% over the three year period. The overall Missouri community college sector grew by 14.9% in head count and 16.2% in FTE over the same time span.

"While the economic slowdown undoubtedly contributed to the rapid enrollment growth, I believe it is equally important to recognize the impact of a dedicated and caring faculty coupled with an affordable tuition and fee structure," commented Alan Marble, Crowder president. "We strive to provide our students with a very high quality education at a reasonable cost, and I think these enrollment totals reflect the value that students have discovered in that approach."

Crowder College is a comprehensive community college with campus locations in Neosho, Cassville, Nevada, and Webb City. According to its director of admissions, Jim Riggs, students have come in two varieties: those continuing their education after graduating from high school and those interested in job training to make a career change.
