A ribbon cutting took place on January 10, 2014, at the grand opening ceremony of Crowder College's new facility, the James B. Tatum Hall at 194 College Rd. in Jane. Crowder officials and donors were on hand to celebrate. This new center, built to be LEED certified, could not have been named after a greater benefactor to the college, a man who was the driving force behind the community college for over 50 years, 45 as chairman of the board. The building contains six classrooms, two science labs, nursing labs, a booksore, an upstairs conference room and a large commons area. It offers a variety of general education classes as well as a new nursing program that recently was located in a former Pineville lumberyard.
