An anonymous donor in memory of his wife has contributed $1,000,000 to Crowder College. The donation was given in a private reception on July 11, 2014, attended by family members and Crowder College administrators, trustees and Crowder College Foundation officers. The funds, called "seed" money by the donor, will be used by the foundation for scholarships, to support educational travel for students and for academic program support and development. A portion will be invested. It is among the largest one-time donations received by the college and the largest non-capital gift received to date. The photo shows the check cashing ceremony that took place in which Dr. Jennifer Methvin, Crowder president, at right, has presented the check to Cindy Branscum, director of institutional advancement.
