Poultry education gets grant boost at Crowder

Neosho The Crowder College Agriculture Division received a $6,500 grant for Industry Education and Recruitment from the U.S. Poultry Foundation. The gift was made possible by the Hollis P. Osborne family.

Grant funds are used to take students to the International Poultry Expo in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as exposing them to career opportunities in the poultry industry, state Jay Wilkins, Crowder Agriculture Division Chair.

Crowder College offers an associate degree in agriculture with a poultry science option. It is designed for students pursuing a four-year degree in all areas of agriculture, pre-veterinary medicine, and wildlife conservation.

Crowder has an agreement with the University of Arkansas Bumpers College Poultry Science Department that allows students to seamlessly transfer as juniors into the program.
