| The Joplin Police Department wants residents to be aware that the enforcement of parking ordinances is an ongoing activity.
The city of Joplin receives a number of complaints about improper parking on a daily basis. Some of the more frequent violations include parking on the wrong side of the street, blocking alleys, and parking vehicles too close to the intersection.
Enforcement of parking regulations is a responsibility of the police department and officers will enforce parking regulations just as they enforce any other city ordinance.
Sometimes the number of priority calls for service will not allow officers to check on parking violations but officers will actively enforce parking rules as time allows.
Proper parking is the responsibility of all drivers and it is a courtesy to our fellow citizens to park in a legal manner.
