Joplin Police Blotter: drug arrests

The Joplin Narcotics Unit with the assistance of Jasper County Drug Task Force on September 2, 2009, served a search warrant at 307 W. C St., Joplin.

A search of the location produced five bags containing a green leafy substance, suspected to be marijuana. Numerous pills with markings identifying them as methadone were also found in the location. These pills were not packed in prescription bottles and no one at the location had a prescription for the medicine.

Clifford A Young, a 41-year-old black male, who lives at the residence, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance. Jose I Duran, a 44-year-old white male whose address is 2640 E. 32nd St., Joplin, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Both individuals were booked at the Joplin Police Department. Charges have been forwarded to Jasper County Prosecutors Office for filing of appropriate charges.

The Joplin Narcotics Unit with the assistance of Jasper County Drug Task Force served a search warrant on September 1, 2009, at 3115 E. 8th St., Joplin.

A search of the location produced chemicals and components of a methamphetamine lab capable of producing several ounces of methamphetamine. A bag of white powder suspected to be methamphetamine was also recovered from the interior of the location.

Julie S. Roberts, pictured, a 28 year old white female, who lives at the residence, was arrested for manufacturing of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. She was booked at Joplin Police station where she is being held pending the filing of formal charges.
