The Joplin Police Department responded to a bank alarm at Commerce Bank, 2980 S. McClelland Blvd. on September 10, 2009 at 5:28 p.m.

A male about 40 to 50 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds with brown and gray hair, blue jacket and a half mask entered the bank and demanded cash after displaying a handgun.

The suspect escaped in an unknown direction with an undetermined amount of cash.

The robbery remains under investigation at this time by detectives with the investigations bureau
