Joplin Police Blotter: Robbery on Main St.

Joplin Police Officers were called to Payroll Advance Inc. at 2613 South Main St. at about 11 a.m. today (7/14/10) in reference to an armed robbery. Police determined that two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the business and restrained the clerk to a chair. The suspects then took an undetermined amount of cash from the safe and cash drawer andfled the business through the back door. After a period of time the clerk was able to free himself and call for assistance.

Suspect # 1 is described as a white male, 6', 200 pounds, with a goatee and wearing a dark black or blue T-shirt with an emblem of some type on the front and blue jeans. Suspect #2, the one with the handgun, is described as a white male 5'9" to 5'11", 160 pounds, and wearing an off-colored white shirt and blue jeans. Both subjects had what appeared to be panty hose pulled down over their faces.
