On January 11, 2011, officers with the Joplin Police Department responded to Sonic located at 720 South Maiden Lane in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred. A white female approached an employee and demanded money and threatened her with a knife.

The suspect then fled on foot and was seen getting into a vehicle a block away. An Officer responding to the location spotted the suspect vehicle at Junge and Maiden Lane moments later and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect was arrested at 21st and Maiden Lane and is currently being held at the Joplin City Jail. The suspect is identified as Angela Anderson, 42, from Joplin. Charges are being sought from the Jasper County Prosecutors Office for First Degree Robbery and Armed Criminal Action.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
