Pictured is Congressman Roy Blunt and Iraqi Interim President Ghazi al Yawar. Blunt hosted a meeting of a bipartisan group of House members and the Iraqi leader last month to discuss the future of Iraq. Ambassador-Designate Rend Rahim, not pictured, also was present.

"The United States and the new Iraqi government must be strong allies in the war against terror, the effort to halt the proliferation of WMDs, and the ongoing struggle to bring fundamental human rights to all people," said Congressman Blunt.

Interim President Ghazi al Yawar spoke optimistically about the conditions in Iraq. He said that the vast majority of the Iraqi people welcome America's ongoing efforts to bring freedom and security to Iraq.
