Neosho joins information service
June 21, 2009
The city of Neosho has joined a community information service for area residents over the age of 16 using the latest technology. The service, called Nixle, delivers public safety messages and notices of community events via text messages, e-mail or through its website.

Nixle is partnered with Niets, the International Public Safety and Justice Network. Niets is the international, computer-based message switching system that links state, local and federal law enforcement and justice agencies for the purpose of exchanging information over a secure network.

The use of Nixle is free. However, standard text messaging rates will apply.
