Neosho is giving back
July 16, 2009
The Neosho Rec Plex will reap a bountiful harvest in more ways than one. Neosho Parks and Recreation Director Todd Banes started a community garden as a way to give back to the people in the community who need help at this time.

"This is our way of showing the community we as an organization care and want to do our part to help people get through this year, Banes said.

The community garden is located at The Rec Plex, 418 Fairground Rd. and includes corn, tomatoes and watermelon. The corn was harvested on July 15, 2009 and was donated to Crosslines of Neosho, 415 North High St. All other garden items also will be donated when they are ready.
