| Update to update: The victim's name is Shane Reeves and he is from Carl Junction. He is now in stable condition. The subsequent release from the JPD now suggests that the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.
UPDATE:
After further investigation it has been determined that the victim suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There was no robbery that occurred at 1302 Schifferdecker. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
Officers of the Joplin Police Department were dispatched to 1302 Schifferdecker at a couple of minutes past 11 a.m. in response to a gunshot victim being on the parking lot. Before being transported to Freeman Hospital, the victim told officers he was robbed and shot after exiting his vehicle.
No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing.
