Support Obama's healthcare program
August 16, 2009
To the editor:

We all know the contentious nature of those opposed to President Obama on any subject and how loud and raucous, rude, and objectionist they are being on the national issues, particularly on the very important issue of healthcare. Consequently it is very important for us to stand up in support of the national healthcare program in whatever form it will ultimately be proposed to cover the millions of Americans who don't have healthcare at all.

We all know the program is being propagandized by a small minority of Americans. If we remain silent on this important issue it is entirely possible that the contentious minority could simply for the sake of politics do severe damage to millions of Americans that very likely include friends within our own ranks.

We have learned that "Organizing for America," the Obama network, will be holding a demonstration in support of Obama's healthcare at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, in front of Congressman Roy Blunt's office in Springfield. It is expected to last about an hour. People who wish to join this group should bring their own supporting signs.

Let's all of us turn out in support. This action promotes the peace within our country that is just as important as worldwide peace.

Dave Davison, former president Peace Network of the Ozarks, Springfield, MO
