On April 29th, the Neosho Police Department worked an accident investigation at the Kansas City Southern Crossing on East Daugherty Road between Pineville Road and Garland Douglas Drive.

The Kansas City Southern train, consisting of a single engine, was traveling southbound when it collided with a vehicle traveling westbound on East Daugherty Road.

The driver of the vehicle is a 37-year-old white male identified as Jason L. Newman of Carthage. He received several lacerations to the area of his head and was transported to St. Johns Hospital in Joplin. The injuries were non-life threatening.

The contributing circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation.
