Quapaw Tribal marshals are sworn in dfinnie

L-R) Cherokee County Clerk Crystal Gatewood swears in as special commissioned officers for the state of Kansas Quapaw Tribe Chief Josh Lewis and QT Marshal Service Officers Jesse Kreweson, Don Leamon, Sean Corbit, Dan Cook, Rodney Kingfisher and Bradly Barnard. The ceremony was held on January 10, 2012 in the Cherokee County sheriff's office. Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves was present but not pictured.

The commission grants jurisdiction over native and non-native people while on Quapaw Tribal land located in Kansas. The tribal marshals also will be able to provide assistance to Kansas law enforcement when needed.
