| Travis Lee Moss, 41, and Misty York, 27, both of Joplin were arrested by duputies of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office and Jasper County Drug Task Force.
While conducting an undercover drug operation on February 1, 2007, the Jasper County Drug Task Force had information that Moss was going to be at a location near Central City Rd. and West 7th St. in Joplin. Moss, known to have been armed in the past, had confirmed felony warrants (1) out of Missouri for a Parole Violation, (2) out of Oklahoma for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and (3) out of Oklahoma for probation violation.
A Jasper County Deputy was attempting to arrest Moss for warrants and drug charges when Moss attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle, almost running the deputy over who was on foot approaching Moss's vehicle. Althought the Deputy fired his weapon during this incident, there were no injuries to him or Moss.
Both Moss and York were taken to the Jasper County Detention Center in Carthage. Moss is being held pending charges of first degree assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, drug charges and Warrants. York is being held for hindering prosecution. More charges may come pending further investigation.
The charges for which Moss and York were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence. Go Back |
