| "The Joplin Globe Newspaper in Education" has partnered with the Joplin Humane Society to sponsor a 2013 pet calendar contest. If you or someone you know has the "perfect" pet to register in the contest, or if you would like to VOTE for the "perfect" pet, visit here for details.
You also may view the pet showcase each Friday in The Joplin Globe. Pets may be entered in the calendar contest through Friday, July 20, 2012; voting for the calendar spots ends Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012. The winner and top 12 finalists will be announced on October 5, 2012. Top prize is a $100 gift certificate for services from Main Street Pet Care, Joplin.
The fee for entering a pet in the contest, purchase birthday recognition on the calendar or pre-purchase a calendar is $10 apiece. Votes are 25-cents each and made be made in each of three rounds. All proceeds benefit the News in Education program and The Joplin Humane Society.
Calendars will available for purchase at The Joplin Globe and participating businesses in November.
