Lenders in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Springfield branch office area submitted and received SBA guarantees on 385 loans for $152.3 million in FY 2012, which ended September 30. These totals include $39.5 million in loans that went to 142 start-up businesses in southwest Missouri, creating 607 new jobs.

The Springfield Branch Office serves 28 counties in southwest Missouri with the highest loan volume being made in Greene County of 164 loans for $76.4 million. In Jasper County, 48 loans were approved for nearly $12.8 million, creating 103 new jobs. In Newton County, six loans were approved for $256,000, creating two new jobs.
