New MSSU Staff Senate members are chosen

Recent balloting resulted in the election of seven new members of the Staff Senate at Missouri Southern State University. The group, acting as a legislative body and consisting of MSSU employees who hold non-academic positions, serves as a consultative association of representatives to make studies, reports and recommendations to the MSSU Administration on behalf of the classified and professional staff.
Two professional staff seats were won by Nicole Brown, Career Services, and Elisa Bryant, Foundation. Both are from Joplin. Five classified staff seats were also won by the following employees:
- Dianna Baker, Distance Learning, Neosho
- Melanie Epperson, Recreational Services, Webb City
- Patty Hart, Nursing Department, Seneca
- Shavonne McCoy, Project Stay, Joplin
- Lauren Powell, Advising, Counseling & Testing, Carterville
The new senators will serve three year terms beginning in July 2013.
