BMX riders to compete for $25,000 in Joplin jeremiah
Updated: 2008-03-25 17:09:00-06
JOPLIN – Autumn Ramp Park will be hosting its Third Annual JoMoPro BMX park contest, April 11th–13, 2008. The event, title sponsored by Roper Honda, Fuel TV and Cable One, offers a $25,000 pro purse and a chance to take home a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Already signed up for the event are some of the world's top riders including AST Dew Tour and ESPN X-Games riders Dennis Enarson, Ryan Nyquist and Craig Mast.

Autumn Ramp Park is located in a 20,000 square foot building within the Bridge Youth Center Complex next to John Q. Hammons Convention Center (I-44, exit 8B). The distinctive ramp park was designed and constructed by sought after ramp builder Nate Wessel and his crew with some assistance from Joplin's American Ramp Company out of Joplin.

Daily spectator passes are available for $10 each. Video premieres and concerts will be provided over the weekend.

“Riding like this happens at the X-Games, Dew Tours, and in bigger cities all across America,” said Lindsay Matush, marketing director of The Bridge. “It is a phenomenal opportunity for Joplin to host something of this scale. It’s kind of like Joplin just got invited to the X-Games, right in their own backyard.”

Last year the contest attracted BMX pros from all across America, Canada, and even into South America.
