Reward for the venison contributor
November 08, 2010
Attention: Deer hunters!
Help feed the hungry during archery and firearms deer season!

Join the Share the Harvest program initiated in 1992 by the Missouri Dept. of Conservation that helps feed the hungry by donating venison to local charities like Crosslines.

If you have all the meat of a deer processed by J&L Custom Processing in Walnut Grove or Turner Meat Processing in Fair Grove, representatives from Bass Pro Shops will transport it to Crosslines for distribution to their clients. While hunters must pay the processing fee, Bass Pro has announced that they will credit $60 to the accounts of those who are contributors.

The program also sponsored by Shelter Insurance, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, the Safari Club International, Whitetails Unlimited, the National Wild Turkey Federation and the JB Reynolds Foundation of Kansas City has distributed over two million pounds of donated venison to thousands of people across Missouri during the past 18 years. Last year the total was more than 252,000 pounds.
