Joplin chamber honored long standing members

Osborn Paper Company, the oldest member of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce with 67 years, was recognized with others with at least a decade of membership. The Milestone Members Awards Reception sponsored by the chamber and The Empire District Electric Company took place on August 27, 2009. The event was held at The Ramsey, 531 Main St., Joplin. Awards were presented.

Other sexagenarian members honored included Meeks Building Center, 63 years; Eagle Picher Technologies, LLC, the Joplin Globe Publishing Company and Parker Mortuary with 62 years; and Empire District Electric Company, 61 years.

Twenty-three others have exceeded the half century mark. They are: (57 yrs.) Russell Belden Electric Company; Brady Stevens Company; Drs. Brothers, Bezold & Associates; Freeman Health System; st. John's Regional Medical Center and U.S. Bank, NA; (56 yrs.) Con-way Truckload, Lucerne Foods, Inc. dba Safeway Bakery; and Roper Pontiac; (55 yrs.) The Beer Company Western Division and Snyder Construction Company; (54 yrs.) Carl Richard's Bowling Centers, Pepsi Bottling Group and The Title Place; (53 yrs.) Allgeier, Martin and Associates, Inc.' Baker Davis Roderique, CPAs, PC; Electric Motor Supply, Inc. and Missouri Eagle, LLC; (52 yrs.) Kraft Insurance Services/Wilson-Turner-Gavin and the Missouri Division of Workforce Development; and (51 yrs.) Commerce Bank, N.A.; First State Bank of Joplin; and Ted L. Lenger.
