Janus Lazarus, an employee of Ozark Christian College, won three gold medals in the Senior Table Tennis Competition at the Missouri State Senior Games held in Columbia on June 8, 2007. Because of his wins, he will travel to Louisville, KY, June 26-29, to compete in the National Senior Olympics. Lazarus, a native of Indonesia, moved to the US in October of 1998 and to Joplin a few months later. In 2002, he joined OCC as a technical services assistant in the Seth Wilson Library. On his lunch hour and breaks, Lazarus began playing table tennis in the Mabee Student Center, reviving a hobby from his childhood days. He has competed over the past three years in several state competitions.
