OCC Faith Forum topic is creation vs evolution l-frye

Ozark Christian College will host its annual Faith Forum on September 25-27, 2007, in the OCC chapel at 1111 N. Main St. in Joplin. Special guest speaker for the week will be Dr. Terry Mortenson, a scholar and international speaker regarding creation with answers from the Book of Genesis.

Dr. Mortenson received a Ph.D. in the history of geology from the University of Coventry in England. He has been studying and speaking on the creation-evolution controversy throughout North American and Europe since the late 1970s. He also holds a master's degree in divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Illinois, and a B.A. in math from the University of Minnesota.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Tues., Sept. 25, 10-11 a.m.: Creation or Evolution: Does it Really Matter?

  • Wed., Sept. 26, 8-9 a.m.: Big Bang: Exploding a Myth

  • Wed., Sept. 26, 10-11 a.m.: Noah’s Flood: Washing Away Millions of Years

  • Thurs., Sept. 27, 9-10 a.m.: Origin of Species: Was Darwin right?

  • Thurs., Sept. 27, 10-11 a.m.: Apemen: The Grand Illusion
