Burn permit purchase locations expanded l-onstot
Updated: 2008-11-08 09:53:49
Starting Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, permits in order to burn leaves and debris may be purchased at Joplin's five fire stations. The additional locations supplement the original location that is at the Joplin City Hall. Residents first are required to contact the Joplin Fire Department about weather conditions and if burning is allowed on each day.

The fee for a permit is $5.00 and is good for three consecutive days, starting on the day of purchase. Pending availability of personnel, the permits may be purchased by check or money order (no cash) at each station from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays through Saturdays.

The original location, the Finance Department, located on the third floor of City Hall, 602 S. Main St., is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Payment at City Hall may be made by cash, check, money order or debit and credit card.

To contact the Joplin Fire Department phone (417) 623-0403.
