Volunteer to help save trees
July 23, 2014
Mike McDaniel, aborist for the city of Joplin, is asking for volunteers to help water the newly planted trees in the Joplin and Duquesne areas. The trees lost in the Joplin tornado of May 2011 have been replaced in the parks and right-of-ways for the redevelopment of green space in the communities. About 10,000 new plantings were made.

The watering schedule may be flexible but a commitment to water is required. Volunteers should contact McDaniel at the Joplin Parks and Recreation office by phoning (417) 624-6937.
